How to use this section:The verses are divided into three parts: Preschoolers memorize the words in bold. Elementary kids memorize the words in bold and italics. Teens and parents learn the complete verse.

Week 1: Mary's Song

Enjoy some fun winter games after all the yummy Christmas goodies.

Give kids some empty tissue boxes to put on their feet for "skis." Enjoy watching them race indoors.

Play "Melting Snow" with a stuffed white snowman or any other winter-themed object. Use "Hot Potato" rules.

Week 2: Moses's Song
Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Read Exodus 15:1-13. Start memorizing Exodus 15:2.

Bake or cook together. Buy the ingredients needed for the recipe in Fun Stuff.

Have a family game night. Take turns picking your favorite board games.

Find some praise songs on CD. Enjoy learning them together and singing them in the car.

Banana bread is an easy recipe to make with the family. Give everyone a turn stirring the batter.

Invite friends over to enjoy your homemade banana bread.

Week 3: Hannah's Song
1 Samuel 2:2 "There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God."

Read 1 Samuel 2:1-10. Start memorizing 1 Samuel 2:2.

Sing a familiar worship song together.

Find the closest children's museum to your home, and enjoy an afternoon there with your child.

Check to see if your park district offers any classes your kids are interested in.

Week 4: David's Song
Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

Read Psalm 40:1-5. Start memorizing Psalm 40:5.

Enjoy a book or DVD that explores God's Creation.

If you have snow outside, help your kids to build an igloo. If not, use Styrofoam blocks.

Have a good old-fashioned snowball fight—with newspaper! Crunch up old newspaper into balls and have at it.
