Week 3: The Angel Appears to the Shepherds

Have a candlelit dinner, and read Matthew 2:1-12. If you have advent candles, explain the significance of the different candles to your children.

Gather around a piano, guitar, or CD player, and sing your favorite carols.

Take a drive, and look at the Christmas lights in different neighborhoods.

Week 4: The Angels Worship God
Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.

Celebrate with your family, praising God for sending his Son, Jesus, to be our Savior.

Read Luke 2:13-20. Start memorizing Luke 2:14.

Encourage your kids to enjoy their new gifts, but also to share them with siblings and friends.

Discuss whether God's favor has rested on you. Have you given your life to Jesus?

Find some time to relax with your kids. It's been a busy week.

Review all the verses from December. See who can recite their verses perfectly.

If your kids are old enough to ring in the New Year, curl up on the couch together and count down the seconds.
